Tomorrow's Miracle Lens Today! (Zunow f/1.1, circa 1958)

According to a couple of online inflation calculators, it's equivalent to approx. $3200 - $3300 U.S. I've never heard of Zunow, anyway.

Actually, wasn't 450$ the price of a new Leica M3 or Nikon SP when they were still new? Surely not cheap, but at least comparable to something else.

I can remember that when the M4 first came out the body listed for $288, the same as the M3. An M2 without a self timer was $200 and $250 got you an M2 with a self timer. When the M2R was released it came with a 50mm Dual-Range Summicron for about about $375. The Nikon F and the SP were both the same frice, $329 with an f/2 Nikkor and $375 with an f/1.4. The original f/1.4 for the F was a 58mm while the S version was 50mm. Nikon also had a 50mm f/3.5 Micro-Nikkor in S mount, and of course all the S lenses were available to correctly focus with Contax cameras as well as being available in LTM.
