too many thumb things!!

i have been impatiently waiting for my thumb thing to show in the mail...free delivery ain't great if it takes forever to arrive.
then i looked at ebay and discovered that i never ordered the damn thing...ordered a grip which showed up...ordered a metal hood for the 50/2 and am still waiting on that...
so i started looking at thumb things for the xt20...tons of them...all shapes and sizes...not a good thing all those shapes and sizes...how to pick the right one...no pics with thing on camera body...take your best shot!
slightly pissed off atm...

has anyone bought a thumb thing for their xt20 and like it?
can you show me a pic or better yet, let me know where you ordered it from?

If Lensmate makes one, that would be my first choice. I have Lensmate thumb rests on all my Fuji cameras but I don't own an XT20.

i find the thumb grips very comfortable for one hand shooting or holding the camera in hand or an extended period.

I go to the hardware store in the section that has feet and such. I get those little stick on cork discs and put one where my thumb rests. One pack will last for all your cameras ever. No strain on the hot shoe either.

For smaller bodies with larger hands they do help to make the camera feel more secure in the hand. I used one on a X100T and XE2 but do not use one on the X Pro 2. I have the Fuji grip on the X Pro 2. Also have the Fuji grip for the XE2 but tend to leave it off to keep the camera size/weight lower.

On the XE2 I use the Lensmate thumbgrip from the X100T and it fits well, feels secure in the hand and helps block the exposure compensation dial from being accidentally changed. Without it my thumb is all over the dial when holding the camera.

i had one years ago on some camera (can't remember which atm)...i found it a bit claustrophobic...confining & uncomfortable.

You might look at Leicagoodies "Snob". It's a larger version of the cork foot idea I proposed.

I just spent a little time on the leicagoodies page. The SHINE for example is a $5 keyring light with a plastic tube and painting the switch red (Leica red no doubt) and people are paying $30? More power to them 🙂

I abandoned those thumb grips for the Metro-case grip.
Have one on the XT-1 now. Warm to the touch, Strong, Super lightweight, better hold all around, adds shock protection, and a built Arca plate.

If you're working well without one, that's great. But when I bought my first X-Pro1, I immediately discovered my fingers were constantly pushing buttons and turning dials that should have been left alone. The thumb rest fixed that problem and holding the camera also felt more comfortable and secure. I've put one on every Fuji I've owned since.

they list most every fuji except the xt10/20...

The XT10/20 models have the fake pentaprism so they look like DSLRs. Back alley will need a thumb rest that's designed specifically for that camera--generic ones won't fit.
