2 years ago, I only had a Minolta 7S & FM2.
Now, in additon to the above, I own a Canon P, 7 (damaged), XA(2), XA4(2), Yashica GX(2), Natura Black 1.9, FE2 and a lot of lens.
I shoot almost every week (not every day), but still found many of them "unattended" most of time.
Which you would choose to keep and sell the others? I would like to own not more than 5.

I understand your dilemma...I've got too many, as well. I do try, however, to try to rotate them regularly. I also own a bunch of vintage watches. There are a few that are favored over the others, but I try to rotate them, too.

Watches and cameras (as well as any other stuff folks like to gather together) are products of "discretionary time and money", and should be enjoyed as objects of appreciation. We've all got to set our own limits (or lack of limits), and asking anyone else what YOU should do is a bit dangerous....

If you can justify having 'em...enjoy 'em!

Regards!
Don

I have a similar plight and find I rely more on my Canons and Feds than my Yashica Electro 35s (3) - I need to give them nore play time. Thanks for reminding me.

SELL?!?! SELL!?!?!? Hell with that. I'd get me one of those little rollaround luggage with the handle like you see at the airports. Each camera would have it's own little padded compartment (YES even the 4 Olympus XAwhatevers). The each time I had a photo op, I'd lay out a little sheet with all the names in squares and toss a coin in the air to drop on the sheet. That would be the camera I'd use, all having fresh film and batteries of course.

You can never have too many camera's. If people in certain parts of the country or of certain religious faiths can support 14 children, than I can certainly support 14 cameras. OR MORE. Keep em all. Are you paying rent specifically to house them. Do they eat much..... NO!

Well Conrad, there are two objective facts pushing us to gather more and more gear.

First, film gear prices went down a lot, and second, you cannot really know what a camera is about until you feel it and use.

My case is even worse, since I move in circles or back and forwards between the many cameras I own, due to my own evolution and discovering new ways to use them, and new advantages and dis-advantages in them.

I all my life, I have sold 5 cameras. I happen to be extemely sorry about departing with 4 of them.

Cheers,
Ruben

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

My fleet:

Leica M2/M4/15/25/35/50/50/100

Pentax SP/SP/SV/20/24/28/35/35/50/50/85/105/135/200/400

Nikon FE2/FE2/F3HP/17/24/35/35-70/50/50/70-200/85/135/200/300/500

Rangefinders besides the Leica: Olympus 35 SP and Olympus 35 RC

I've got a couple AF cameras: 2 Nikons and 2 Canons.

Each month a different big outfit + Olympus 35RC or SP + an AF

That's how I handle the problem. . . I really ought to just choose a system and be done with it. But I enjoy them each for different reasons. . .

Divide up your fleet and use a different group each month.

What a good idea to have a rollaround belt at home for cameras!!
2 years ago I only owned a Nikon F3 which was bought 20 years ago but has been put aside for 10 years( away from photography for 10 years). Now I own about 15 cameras with 3/4 to be rangefinders. The problem is I can't shoot more than 2 times each month due to different enagements in life. So although I do try to rotate them, still each of them does not get a fair share.

I have now given up the idea of rotating them, but to convince myself that they are for collection purpose. It does make me feel less guilty this way.🙁

So, if I can just turn my bedroom into a huge dust-proof dehumidifier, I will displace everyone of them on a wooden shelves for appreciation.🙂 But again HK is an extreme humid and dusty place all year round.....................
