Japan hobby tool, either direct or through eBay are good for specialist tools. Dave Cleal is very helpfull at MY for more general tools. Microtools is comprehensive but in Europe, you have to order from the german site which is somewhat more expensive than the US one.

a friend of mine recommended Edmund Optics!

Their prices are considerably lower than Microtools!
