Time for another RFF meeting for members in the Toronto and surrounding areas. The Distillery District has been suggested as the next shooting location -- does anyone have a fav photographer's retreat there that serves focusing fluid?

Shall we compare dates to see who's available? Let's start with Sat Nov 5. Who can make it on the 5th?

Gene

I think I am working that weekend. I am good actually either the weekend just before Halloween or the weekend of November 12th.

Bill

I'm up for a get together. The next two weekends are questionable for me. I may be going to close up the cottage and it's usually a catch as catch can thing.

If Trius wants to come all the way from Rochester to sit with a motley bunch of photographers I would like to suggest that we have an international flavour to the event. Maybe wear Buffalo Bills hats or something to make him feel at home in the land of hockey pucks.... humour / joke. What about a theme or topic for the event. I like one of these two a) Will Leica lose it's moral high ground if it goes digital or b) colour photography is frivolous (just kidding)

I've marked the thread and I'll try to make it if I can.

Scheduling will never be easy. Uncle Bill can make it on the 12th. Trius, how does the 12th look for you?

I think FrankS took a trip abroad this weekend -- to Kingston or some such faraway place -- we'll see how his schedule looks next time he finds an Internet cafe ... :D

Wow, that's ambitious ... our usual theme is 'fondle classic cameras and drink beer'. You're raising us to a new level :D

Gene

Gene: Nothing on for the 12th, either, so that can work. BTW, I will be wearingone of my several Leafs hats, maybe my Leafs socks, and my NY license plates read LEAFS EH . My name is Trius, and I AM CANADIAN! Any more questions?

Trius
edit/PS: What a Thrashing that was last night, eh?

I believe I'm clear for both of those dates as well... and my cams will be ready too :)

Fondle cameras? Sounds like psychological displacement... humour/joke. My cameras aren't made by Leica so I don't think I'm going to be much fun for a crowd of Leica camera owners and I don't drink too much so I will be boring. Notwithstanding all my 'photo-cultural' shortcomings I will make it so I can say "Hi"

I'm back from my high school football team reunion weekend in Kingston.

I think I'm good for either date, but I'll have to double check with my social coordinator.

I'm trying to arrange my schedule. Are we definately looking at the 12th?
We're close to firming it up, depending on Frank's social coordinator. The 12th is looking good! We should be able to make this final by this evening.

It sure would be great to meet two of our members who reside in NY!

Gene

Let's say the 12th. That's enough lead time for me to write that date on our calendar before anything else gets put there. :)

Gene,

it looks like there are 2 American RFF members coming. Lets call this one the Lake Ontario International RFF meeting. Could be a first ... sort of.

Distillery district huh.. hmm...

We can shoot there and trundle on down towards the Esplanade if need be for post shooting beverages.

There are a couple spots in the district that serve decent coffee (Balzac's) and there's always Pikto if we need film ( http://www.pikto.ca ). There is Mill Street brewery on site but I'm unsure of the restaurants that are on site with respect to having a pint or two. The District is nice but a bit pricey compared to Kensington :)

I, as always, am willing to provide some transportation if need be as I can fit 3 others into my Honda :)

Cheers
Dave
