...Cool Dave dropped me a line to join him on the Toronto Burlesque Festival this past friday, and what a show it was! In a sea of DSLRs, we went with our RFs. A great venue to try bright, fast lenses!

Here are a couple of shots from the show. The one titled host-ess was shot at ISO 800 with Dave's salivation-indusing 75LUX at 1.4 which he was kind enough to let me try on the RD1 (geez Dave, what a lens!). The ones titled bald man were at ISO 1600, with the CV ultron 28 @ 1.9. I have included 100% crop of the ISO1600 for closer inspection (could only upload 3 shots, it seems :).

I must say...I dropped the RD1 just before we started shooting, and even though the overall RF remained fairly good, its a little off at close inspection. The vertical needs adjustment, which made focusing a tad tricky. Enough blaming the tool...the rest of the softness was due to the consumption of Jack Daniels, beer and various shots, he he.

Pretty tame shots for a burleque festival, oh wait...is that a breast? Oh, nope it's a bald guys head, sorry ;)

I was gonna say...you went to a burlesque festival and your first photo posted is of a bald-headed man?

Oh well...I guess I did say it. ;)

better, but... I guess burlesque has come a long way when a guy in tighty whites (or yellows) holding up a giant orange slice is considered burlesque ;)
