In Iowa, most people buy Bud Light, Miller Light, or Coors Light. Save me from this horrid, horrid beer! 😛
Why don't they just buy water ... it'd be cheaper, taste better and probably have a higher alcohol content. 😀

Peter

Exactly. I now have friends who know about the good microbreweries in Iowa, but before...my beer drinking was limited to what I could find in the stores: Killian's, Newcastle (ale), and a stout that I can't even remember the name of.

Trius , re: darkside... how did you know?
Stephanie: Gene is working his story well ..
Jordan: next time :- )

Gene, Dave, John, Peter, Mike , Victor good to see you on a very nice day...

Forgot to mention that after the event, when Dave, Peter and I walked over to the Winter Festival at City Hall, we ran into a photographer who was shooting with a Kodak Stereo camera. I don't know if those are rangefinders or not, but it was cool looking and was in immaculate condition.

There were lots of dSLR photographers there, some of them with lenses longer than my tripod's legs. Different strokes, I guess. And I had just finished switching away from my 90mm lens because I thought it was too long ...

My favourite moment, though, came when I was standing at the edge of the ice, catching a few shots, and one of the skaters, a young man of around 20-21 locked his eyes on my M2. He stopped his girlfriend and pointed and I heard him say "Look, that's a Leica!" Warmed my heart, it did 😀

Gene

If I look a bit tired in the pictures, it's because I was fired from my miserable day job the day before the meeting. I was happy to be among people who didn't talk obsessively about condo politics. Thanks, everyone for the enjoyable afternoon!

Thank you for joining us in spite of everything and bringing the great pictures.

Peter

Sorry to hear about that Victor....judging from your shots you missed your calling anyways! Too late for a journalism degree?
I also went over to the festival at city hall, but missed you guys since I had to turn back rather urgently....didn't realize that street photography can be particularly challenging after several of Nova Scotia's finest ale's. Live and learn.....
Mike

Don't blame you John....I had trouble sleeping after handling Dave's IIIc...where'd you get it and how much did you pay?
I saw a Hektor 28mm F6.3 went recently on e*ay for $413US, and a 28mm Summaron F5.6 went for over $800US....they're both pretty rare, too expensive.....but would they ever be sweet on a IIIC.
Maybe Dave could post some shots with his 35mm Elmar and the IIIc?
Mike

Thanks Earl. In the gallery I posted some of the shots from the Winter Festival, where we went after the Rex. Wish you could have made it to the gathering, but when your new place is finished, think of all the prints you'll have to show us from that new darkroom!

I've been buying my Neopan 400 at Downtown Camera on Queen St E
