Traffic Warden camera!

Salford traffic wardens are being equipped with cap mounted cameras!! They’re no doubt expecting suggestions for alternative places to put them :D

Why is it that people are becoming more tolerant of being photographed by the authorities and at the same time less tolerant of private individuals?

Can't understand this either! It's ok for the govt to shoot you but not ok for me to shoot a picture of your front steps? Yikes. Perhaps when accosted for making pictures we should start saying we work for the govt!
"No, I'm here on official business, order of the State Department- did you see those guys that were here the day before yesterday? Yes? Oh good- you need to head on down to the regional headquarters and talk to Agent Heduperaz"

Haha, it records everything that they do on their shift? So if they take a piss, the people back at the station get to see that?

On the other hand, I've seen video of those traffic wardens receiving the most amazing abuse at the hands of folks getting tickets....

"People" trust their governments...they just don't trust you.

Reflects perhaps a certain lapse in judgement.

I actually am pretty trustworthy despite my appearance.

I already see the flaw in my plan- when people that look like me work for the government the government won't want to photograph people anymore.

When I lived in NYC I did a bit of work folks from different agencies. Some of the NYPD folks said the traffic enforcement folks had it much worse than they did and from everything I ever saw I agree. Imagine only dealing with New Yorkers who had not broken a major law but were about to get fined a lot of money or have thier car towed!

I do wonder what they do when they go into the bathroom and all?

That's why I never left my windows open when I lived down there!!!

Actually there is likely a 'mute' button or imagine the potential lawsuits!

I think these are the same Cylon cameras that the police have been using for a while - I bought one last year for some specialist filming and they're kind of fun for point-of-view shots...

Traffic wardens are an object of some ill-feeling ;) so I suppose the idea is to film any aggressive behaviour...of course, being a hard disk based system, stamping on the box would be an effective 'erase' and render the whole thing pretty pointless...or am I just a cynic...
