My wife and I spent a little over 2 weeks traversing most of Asia and some of Europe by rail this year. It was a trip that I had wanted to do ever since I heard such a rail trip existed. I had an amazing time and would love to do it again. You can read about the trip here if you'd like.

ditto: would love to do such a trip by rail ... thanks for sharing. looking fwd to reading on once the link is fixed.

Thanks for sharing and telling about those pictures! I traveled a lot by Russian train. Sometimes as the only passenger in VIP coach... And in "common wagon" as well.
But never this far.

Hogarth - what a trip - I'm in the middle of your write up on your site - thanks for letting us know - fabulous trip and great images

Thank you for the kinds words. I plan on writing up a post for each stop on the trip as well, so this thread might continue to have photos added to it.

Aah yes!
Lovely journey, and MF has some nice depth.
BTW, I noted you wanted to do Singapore-London all the way. There is an OZ-British photographer who did the "Great Railway Journey", taking 45 days.
Jamie Hladky is his name and posted it on tumblr.

Looking for how and who is using Medium Format in travel (specifically Fuji 6x9) has shown me some interesting photographers indeed.
I have to think about how to pack that gear rather lightly for a long journey. And. Not. Be. Lazy. Move.

I can't imagine hauling the GL690 or GW690 series in travel; Hogarth's Fujifilm GF670 is really the bee's knees when it comes to traveling light with medium format 6x7. Really digging the cinestill 800 glow on the train tracks

I've thought of getting and using a gw690iii for trips as well. The little extra real estate on the film would be nice.

I just posted about the day we had in Beijing if anyone wants to read that.
