A short trip to the East to visit family and friends, I didn't want to carry much at all and decided to use the Light L16 once again. While staying at my friends' home in Connecticut, a bunch of cacti arrived and were suitably potted shortly afterwards.

Thank you!

Yes, the Light L16 is a bit of an oddity. A fascinating concept, a reasonable implementation given the day of its design and building, and of course a dead-end hardware-wise since it was intended from the start as a technology demonstration for the company's multi-camera image integration algorithms rather than as the start of a line of equipment offerings. Light.co has gone on to good success in development and licensing their algorithms. The L16 is long discontinued and unsupported ... but it continues to function beautifully and produce lovely work for me.

As long as it continues to do so, I'm happy to have it as a part of my kit and use it. When it finally dies, it will become an honored shelf queen. ;)

Just back from a week in Mexico ... Spent time in Tijuana and in the Guadalupe Valley. Once again, not a photo trip and wanted the smallest, lightest capable camera I could carry, so I stuffed the L16 into my travel bag once more.

As always, it produces some amazing work for me:

An amusing thought: the detail in this image is so good that I really should make a large LARGE print to see it all. At 300 ppi output, the native quality image area would be 74x27 inches in size ... I just don't know if I have enough wall space to hang that!

And yeah: there are a couple of artifacts on the left edge from the stitching process. I may eventually take them out, but they aren't offending me enough right now. LOL!

Enjoy! G
