We will be in Europe for over two weeks, and I will try to keep camera gear as little as possible but still keep it enjoyable.
M8 and M9 for cameras. Same batteries and charger.
Zeiss Hologon 16/8 for some wide angle photography, while the 50/2 rigid Summicron should be fine as the second lens. On the M8, I would get a 21/8 and a 66/2 option. So I will have 16-21-50-66. If I replace the Cron with a Lux 35/1.4, I would get 16-21-35-46. Also very useful.
Last summer I used only two M 4/3 cameras. It worked out fine, I think. I used the 25/1.4 "Lux" and a pre-war Sonnar 5cm/1.5 then.
The summer before, I used the M9 and SWC and maybe also the M 4/3 E-P2.
I am looking forward to a break from work.

These days my digital camera for travel is the Panasonic LX5, an amazing pocket package...

When traveling for vacation, I do not take parts of each kit.
I do, however, sometimes add an identical Canon or Fuji backup body. I do not have an identical Leica backup body.

My Leica back-up camera to the M9 is the M8. It is not identical.

Here's a typical setup, with my 4x5 and 4 lenses with 18 sheets of film, Rolleicord, and Nikon SP with 4 lenses. 35mm/120 film is in a little side pouch and tripod attaches to the outside. I swap out pieces depending on what I'm doing. Sometimes instead of the 4x5 and Rollei it's just my Pentax 67ii and a few lenses. Sometimes it's my Leica M6. Sometimes if I'm going on a longer trip to varying locations I'll have a couple of bags with different kits in them - a view camera bag for landscapes, a small 35mm bag for just walking in a city having fun. This all fits as a carry-on for a flight.

Do not forget the charger this time.
Where are two types of photographers on days off.
One tape takes one camera and maybe two lenses.
Typ 2 takes load.
It looks like typ 2 looking for work while they are taking break from another work.

Enjoy your cameras Raid, my suggestion is not to keep everything with you all the times. One camera with one lens, another lens in a pocket or in a bag, the other camera and lenses in the safe of the hotel. Alternate daily, one day wide next day normal, one day super wide next day different camera...

Thanks for this tip, Robert. I have never before left a camera at any hotel, but if there is a safe, then this is a possibility.

I remember to read about it.
M8,9 batteries are strange things. Even original not lasts for long and third party tends to lock themselves on vacation trips.
If I ever get chance to be on vacation again, I'll get one camera, one lens for bw films and mobile phone.

An option is to take only the M9 and 2 lenses. Makes it all much lighter.
Yes, the batteries need attention each day.

Now that must have been a workout! Suddenly my initial goal of taking the M8 and M9 looks so small! Thank you for this visual confirmation that I am OK
