Tri-X@1600 in LC29

Hi,

I need to develop Tri-X shot at 1600 and the only developer I got atm is Ilfotec LC29. According to Ilford's fact sheet, the time should be 7 min. with 1+9 dilution.

Could you recommend you own times/dilutions/agitation if I wanted to achieve the best shadow details and lowest grain? Or should I perhaps wait and get different developer (though not so simple thing in my country, I would probably have to order it from some online shop).

I did, but there are times only for EI 400 with this combination. though I could probably use times for HP5@1600

Easiest answer ever: Diafine!
Tri-X @ 1600 in Diafine, same grain and contrast as Tri-X @ 400 in D-76.

If you are interested, I have one package of Microphen, which I don't need in near future...

The 1:9 dilution of LC29 is a close equivalent to HC110 dil a. The developer is of a very similar composition just diluted further than HC110 syrup. You might look at HC110 times as the Ilford information is a bit sparse. Ilford also produce a .pdf on push processing with recommendations for time adjustments. Well, the standard rule is 20-25% per stop. If it's 6.5 minutes at 1+19 (according to MDC), then that should be...about 10 minutes. This comes from a guy that has never used LC29.
