Another opportunity to shoot the kid wrestling. This time with the Elan 7e and Vivitar 135mm f2.8.
I loaded tri-x and rated it at 3200 iso. Developing was 2 hours of semi-stand processing in Rodinal at about 1:75.

Still not happy with the results. Too little contrast...but not sure what I can do about that.

Comments? Suggestions?

Hard to say without looking at the original scan histograms. In any case, dont worry about development time (when the Rodinal is gone, it's gone), add developer. By 1:75 I assume you mean 4ml per roll ? Which will push the Tri-X by a stop. Try 6-8ml per roll. The scan histograms show you how many stops you are off ....

Easy - stop using Rodinal for push processing.

It's not well suited for it. Choosing an ill-suited tool for a specific task gives predictable (poor) results.

There's a host of other developers that will compensate and are better suited to push processing. Tri-X can easily push to 1600 or 3200 - it's practically made for it.
FWIW, I've had good results with DD-X but XTol or TMax developer will do great things, also...best of luck.

Yes, 4ml per roll.
I've been trying to follow the advice of Lynn Miller for stand processing http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showpost.php?p=927796&postcount=47

I have no idea how to interpret the can histogram. What do you think?

The grain seems very well under control here, better than I've gotten from tri-x at 1600 in Diafine anyway.
I've seen great results with tri-x pushed to 6400 using Rodinal and stand processing...so that's what I'm currently trying.
