Tri-X Tattoo

About the only intelligent thing that I ever heard Tommy Lee say was "if you want a tattoo, wait at least six months and see if you still want it."

There's a woman who works at one of the downtown photo stores in Halifax who has a tattoo on her sholder of a frame of film (sort of like what Brian Shaw was describing) and it makes me swoon a little bit.

Your kids won't be interested in your tats when you grow up, because by that time, the tatoo will more closely resemble a bruise, they'll be out of fashion, and there'll be wrinkles and hair in it anyway. Old tatoos are not attractive.

Thats what people said to me when I got my tattoo twenty five years ago. But tattoos are still fashionable, and my kids and nephews and neices do find it fascinating.

I would not have a tattoo of a film box, or any product for that matter. better to shrink wrap a box of TriX for posterity.

My brother, however, had an affair with ink in his younger days. He had his girlfriend's name inked on his arm: "Carol". He ended up having to marry her. It didn't work out. Then he got lonely and wanted another wife. He had to find a girl named Carol. He found one and married her. It didn't work out. Then he got lonely and wanted another wife. He tried finding a girl named Carol but married one named something else. It was bad news from day one. It didn't work out. Now he's getting lonely again. I suggested he gets a nice puppy.

What's the moreal of that story... nothing really... other than one should be careful when making permanent decisions. 😀

my first wife was a carol too!

i agree on needing to be sure aout what you put on your body.

i thought long and hard and didn't have it done till i was in my 30's. i don't regret it and i still quite like both of them.
i also wear one earring and shave my head.

so maybe i'm not the best person to listen to about this...😉

Well, it's more original than a misused chinese/japanese character, which is so commone these days. I saw someone with a tatoo that read "manservant", and he thought it read manly or something. Anyway, I like George's idea of a simple graphic lens diagram. Something like a double gauss line drawing or maybe the 35/1.4 lux asph. I think they are a bit cooler because most people would just think they were a graphic shape, but a photographer would know what it was. Anyway, I'd rather just have a t-shirt with one....

How about T-shirts? Get screen printed tshirts with some lens design on it. just Black on white. Or white on black.

Too bad my username and website is "Shutterflower" . . . .doesn't make for the best tattoo design. Not for a guy, at least. Maybe someday I'lll change the name of the site, but I'd hate to do that now that so many people have the thing bookmarked, etc.

I would be stealing the idea. I actually saw a guy from the Zeiss factory wearing a shirt with the planar design on the back of it. It was in my Zeiss Ikon book from Japan (Zaisu Ikon no Tsubete)...but anyway, I would be in, but I am not going to be in the US until August, so it might take me awhile. I agree that just black with white diagram lines or white with black lines would be good. Nothing else...Cafe Press makes t-shirts, but I don't know who else does it easily.
