I'm trying to clean the VF and innards of my newly aquired Zorki-5. I got most of the visible screws out, including the tiny one on the shutter speed dial and the viewfinder/rangefinder caps. I dont see any screws in the shutter cocking device or the iso selector for the flash.

So how do i get this thing open? This is the first zorki I have ever attempted to open, and the second FSU camera.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I have a PDF file with illustrated instructions for removing the top. PM me with an e-mail address and I will send it to you.

I killed mine just trying that. Search the web for dismantling, there are some great sites about these. I do remember you need all viewfinder and rangefinder windows screwed out and the wind knob off. This can be done with the ducttape trick because there is no grip on those rings. Left thread as well IIRC.
You know the rangefinder window rotates for vertical adjustment, right?

I didn't realize that I could upload a PDF file. Here are the illustrations.

This is not my content. I downloaded it from the old Yahoo Russian camera forum before it was deleted. The moderators may want to take a close look at it and see if it should be deleted.

Great link Paul, that is exactly what I was looking for. If all the info in that .pfd fails i'll try candles and champagne. Maybe throw in a lil' Barry White.

There are several "Roman"s that are members here; is the author one of ours, I wonder?

I think he is, but I don't know which one. Whomever, he deserves a lot of thanks.
