Planning a trip to this very photogenic city in the very near future. Tips and/or tricks anyone? Is the Czech public a tough crowd for some street-photography? Are there photo-do's and -don'ts or even never-minds in this city?

If you are near the Wenceslas Square go for a look at the FotoSkoda (Vodickova str 37)- lots of photo gear to sell, well worth visiting (check their website). Cheap Foma film also. And another shop just across the street. I've no connections with any of these, except as a customer.

Photo opportunities and subjects are infinite in Prague, as you will find for yourself. Excelent beer also.
My sugestion: the Jewish Cemetery (very early in the morning, before the crowds start coming in). Some samples here

Have a nice trip

You can get great pictures in Prague along the river at sunset. Also from the heights of the castle overlooking the city is a beautiful sight. When you get a sunset or sunrise it magnifies the red tile roofs of the buildings. The town square is magnificent place to do street photography. You will see people from all over the world in the shops and sidewalk restaurants. The texture of the cobble stone streets ads to the charm of the pictures you can take there.

Enjoy your visit.

Back from Prague. With a modest amount of rolls shot, just about 10(35mm) in 5 days.
Great city with great architecture but heavily overrun by tourists. Nevertheless some nice pics survived the selection and are posted on my blog.

I visited Prague 2 years ago and it was magnificent. There is nothing to worry about street photography more than anywhere else. Just walk around the streets and shoot. Also the city is full of opportunities for portraits. Sadly there are lots of homeless people around. If you are polite enough you will not have any problems with any of them.

Here are some pictures I had taken during my visit.
