I like the freedom of never using a tripod. I had my fill of tripods in another life, letting the "creative director" peer through the lens of my medium format camera to OK the shot before tripping the shutter.

I even take the PJ approach to landscapes. I will accept the steadying influence of any tree, fencepost or building when it's called for.

I suppose I should offer my Bogen tripod for sale. It's in fantastic condition!
 
With RF cameras, only for self-portraits, which are pretty rare (and therefore very valuable?). With long lenses on an SLR, less than I should, but more than I like.
 
SLR w/ long lenses = monopod
4x5 (view camera & SG) = tripod
35mm & 120 RF's = not once yet
nightshots & fireworks = tripod
 
Virtually 100%. I shoot landscapes and night shots using ISO 100 and f stops of 16 or 22. Until I got the Xpan I was using a Linhof 617s which is very heavy.
Only the digital P&S is used without a tripod.

I recall that one notable photographer was asked to name the sharpest lens he’d ever used and his reply was a “tripod”.

I used to take almost all photos with a tripod supported camera when using SLR cameras. Sharpness of images and ultimate control of composition and aperture was critical to me in nature photography. With RF photography I am not using a tripod. Today, I was thinking about using my Rolleiflex TLR, and the first thing that I wanted to remind myself was using a tripod for all photos with the Rollei. It allows me to use very slow film and still use very small apertures.

I use it for landscapes (these are very rare lately), and I use it for when I am shooting product pics - like things for sale on RFF.
 
I already use mine a lot, specifically for landscapes and night time shots (duh!!!)😱 . However, I feel I should use it more, or get a nice little monopod (they seem pretty handy). We should all use the chances we get to increase sharpness in our photographs. That reminds me, my tripod is getting a bit shabby; Maybe I should get a new one soon. A manfrotto with one of those cool squese handle ball heads😎 . Now, off to find some money.

Mini-tripod

I have a Gitzo I use for landscapes, but do use a mini-tripod alot with my rangefinders, mostly as a chestpod. I have RA and it definitely improves what used to be unacceptable camera shake. 😱
