Tripod Strip

The cast aluminium parts on this tripod need a good strip and repaint. It would be better to get it down to its component parts first, but it's not obvious how. There are Allen screws under the leg pivot/ centre column mount, but nothing obvious on the P & T head. Any suggestions welcome.

I believe it will come apart by unscrewing the pan, tilt and azimuth controls.

There is an M6 ish bolt at the top end of the centre column, presumably retaining the head. Now all we need is a socket with 18 inch extension.
