So I'm having coffee with Jeff Hapeman at Starbucks.
I brought along an original Black M2 with 35 Summicron.
Jeff had a M9P with tri Elmar.
Some guy trips and falls on the table, sending the cameras flying.
Luckily we both caught our cameras mid air. No damage.
Funny, neither of us tried to help the guy falling.
Misplaced priorities I guess.

No Stephen, you have your priorities right. The original black M2 and MP+TE are worth more than a few stitches to the other's guy's face.
BTW, glad there was a happy ending.

Ah, but likely in this country, the cameras have better insurance than the man does.
And photo taken with iPhone?

Did he spill his coffee?

well, I informed the guy how much the cameras were worth.
he had kind of a surprised green look on his face.
luckily, no coffee was spilled or buttery croissants damaged

Beautiful M2!

I'm picturing a slow-motion Adam Sandler, as he trips, hits the table, watches the two Leicas head toward the concrete floor, trying desparately to conjure up the name of his insurance agent, while at the same time catching the double-soy latte and landing in the lap of Hollywood starlet sitting at the next table.
[Anyone want to use this as part of their draft movie script, oK with me, but make sure I'm included in the royalty negotiations.]

I nearly crapped my pants, and as Stephen pointed out, I never even looked at the falling guy--I was diving for the cameras. Bruises and cuts will heal--a broken lens won't.

Plenty of humans on the planet and more being made every minute no more M2s being made and only a few M9s.
You did the right thing like and good mother protecting her little precious bundle.

Did he spill his coffee?
It`s Starbucks, maybe it was his first taste?

If it was Starbucks, the coffee was probably more expensive than the cameras....!! Still, I'd have saved my camera first and given the clumsy oaf a sneaky "whack" in the attempt to save it.
