Trivia; dating something.

Hi,

Those aluminium cans that the Leitz cassettes came in vary from plain metal to ones with the "Leica" logo on top filled or painted in red. Has anyone any idea when they dropped or started the red paint?

There were also double cans, two cans joined at the bottom. Were those used for the Leica 1 ? Joe
