A friend of mine showed me some movie B&W film, so I took it out for a spin. All shot with Leica IIIg + Elmar 35/3.5 + Silverfast + 9000ED

This is the only film I can find in 16mm single perforation for my Minolta 16II. Quite grainy with 10X14mm negatives but yours look pretty good at full frame.

It is pretty wonderful stuff. Those look fantastic. Thankfully ORWO UN54 is close (in look anyway- and as a bonus the ORWO is slower) and it comes in 100' rolls.

In leicas, in B&W, I shoot almost exclusively Eastman 5222 (Double X) I have now gone thru 3 ea of 400ft cans in two years. It is available from FILM EMPORIUM in new York ( google will find it) My favourite development for one litre volume is 15cc HC-110 syrup and 15cc Rodinal concentrate development for 9-11 minutes ( 21C) agitation once 30 sec. The result combines the zippiness of Rodinal and nice tones of HC-110.

Thank's for that, i'm off to hunt some down

Also look on Flickr for Double X, Kodak 5222 samples and the site here on Rff "Shooting with Kodak Double X" - massive information on developers and using the 5222. I have been using the film for decades as my primary film. At the moment I am procrastinating as I have none loaded up - but 210 Leica IXMOO cassettes and 3 cans of 400 ft is sitting in the darkroom waiting to be loaded. I tend to rate it @ 320.

Will a Watson bulk loader work with 400' cans?

Yes if you reload it into a 100" spool. I use the plastic Kodak film cores that come with their 100' rolls of bulk film. Attach the end with masking tape, and start rollin'. When you get to a size spool that will fit into the loader you are done.

Scissors I keep in my back pocket, so I can find them in the dark. This is not difficult at all, just requires some patience. The payoff is worth the trouble.
