Hello all,

was wondering if somebody here could help me identify what kind of mount this is. I recently bought a Meyer Optik Gorlitz 300mm f/4 Orestegor lens thinking it had an exa mount on it but when my adapter came, it didnt work. Now I'm stuck as to what mount this is....any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Juan, it is either a Pentacon Six mount, or an exa mount outer bayonet. It is likely your exa adapter doesn't support the outer bayonet, at least, I haven't come across one. Try and find a 42mm screw mount for your lens. The mounts are interchangeable. If you cannot find the mount, you can always buy an Exakta Varex IIb or newer (for parts!) and use the mount to construct your own adapter.
By the way, it is a very good lens!

Cheers,
Jan

Jan- Thanks for the info. I've been scouring the internet trying to find a photo of a pentacon mount to compare but couldn't find something that looked like my mount. I will be trying to find the screw mount rear adapter for this lens as I am very excited to put it to use. Maybe I can find a cheap pentacon adapter somewhere and see if it fits.

Bluemoon- thanks for that, I've sent you a PM.

That is indeed the outside mount for an Exakta. The conical section of that lens is removeable/interchangeable, so that P6 and M42 mounts can be swapped in. It would probably be easier to find one of those than to try and make a new adapter using old Exakta parts.

By any chance would you know a good place to find these rear adapters? I've been doing some searches online but can't seem to find anywhere that might have them.
