I have a Franka Solida Jr and was able to dissamble, clean and put it back together. The only problem I think I am having right now is making sure the focus is set proplerly. What I did was adjust the lens exactly at 3.6 ft from target to film plane on camera +-. I checked the image at 3.6 and it appears a very tiny bit out of focus and as I go to ~ infinity the object appears sharper. Is this how it should be or is there another way to do this? Viewing the image on wax paper is a little difficult to get it precise. I read up on how to set the focus ring at Rolandandcaroline.uk and did what they said.. Can you use something else besides scotch tape or wax paper backing to make sure you are achieving a focused image properly?
I also have a Telex rangefinder. I am using this in conjuction with the Franka. The rangefinders seems to be pretty accurate at a short distance but when I start to align the squares at a furthur distance it tends to be less accurate. For example an object about 200ft away would register about 25 - 30 ft on the rangefiner. Is this the characteristic of the rangefinder? What can I do to correct it? I went to one website, but they didn't go into too much detail. I also read that I shouldn't clean the mirrors or orange glass, if they are dirty how do I clean them.
I tested camera and the rangefinder together by dialing in the distance on the rangefinder and then set it on my Franka and the image appeared to be focused. I know the distance the range finder reads to the object may be off, but it appears the distance on the rangefinder and then dialing the distance on the camera seems to work together.
Any help would be appreciated. If you recommend something to buy at a local store I live in the states.

There's another trick that's a bit more precise. With a fine pen or pencil you draw a mark on a piece of scotch or wax paper and you fix this on the film plane of the camera. You should not close the camera, but position it with it's back to some light source. Then you take an SLR (with proper focusing) and point it towards the lens of the tested camera, such that you can see in the SLR viewfinder, through the lens of the tested camera, the mark you've made on the scotch/wax paper. Set the distance ring on the SLR at infinity. Now adjust the tested camera such that the mark is properly focused when it's distance ring is at infinity.

I think I got it right. I took a piece of cellophane paper similar to wax paper. I drew a cross with a fine tip black marker on it. I set my Franka on a tripod and then I put my Nikon n60 with a 28-80 lens set to manual and Infinity. I then set the lens of the Nikon right up to the lens of the Franka. I could see the lines of the cross in the center of the Franka lens. I set the lens of the franka to infinity and the lines came out sharp, I could even see the variances of the lines from what the marker left on the cellophane.
The trick now is to figure out the Telex.
Thanks for the help.
