My SRT-101's self-timer has stopped working and Im trying to take the camera apart because I believe it to be a mechanical problem.
i have gotten the bottom of the camera off, but am having trouble on the top.
Here is a picture of what Im having trouble with. The screws circled in green, have already been taken off, but the screw in red is troubling me.
Here is what the screw looks like on my camera. Just a red circle.
Once I get that screw off, I will follow this next picture and try to fix the self timer.
Any suggestions on getting that screw off?

The screw is behind the red dot. Some people get it out by wedging a needle point under/beside it, though there are probably better tricks.

Is the red dot just painted over the screw, or is it a plastic cover or what?

I don't know what it's made of, but it's a removable item, not paint.

See if you can get to that. It says it's made of metal and to pry it out with a sewing needle.

Using a small needle carefully work it under the red dot which is red anodized aluminum and pry off. It is glued on so it should come off easy. You will now have access to the screw head. Reverse and re-glue the dot.
If I recall the timer is held in place by 3 screws. After removal soak in ronsonol for an hour and after completely drying place a small dot of oil on each pivit point..
When replacing the front standard be sure to properly place the release lever on the timer to the shutter release plunger otherwise the front will not fit back in place..
