very unusual new lens announced - looks totally like summaron outside - totally different optical formula.
i dont know what to think - like it somehow but i dont know about f5.6...

Very nice of them to produce something so vintage looking...depending on price a 28mm f 5.6 lens is not the epitome of universal usefulness in this day and age but there is a market for everything if you factor in nostalgia.

Looks adequate (and the price will be right), although they should have little trouble making it f/3.5 (and designing a new barrel, for God's sake).

TTArtisan is also planning to release a 23/1.4 in APS-C mounts, including Fuji. That should be an interesting lens as well. I currently have the 17/1.4, 35/1.4 and 50/1.2 TTA lenses. Really very nicely made and optically interesting in an unrefined, old school way. Bargain priced as well--only the 17mm cost over $100 US.

No adapters needed.😀

Lenses cost more than $200.

Looking forward to that one to. I own the 35/1.4 (the first one) and 17/1.4 (the third one) and can see small incremental improvements in design and craftsmanship with each installment like the increasingly tactile aperture ring. I'm sure it'll get even nicer with the latest release. Optically it (the 23/1.4) looks sophisticated enough as well.

Wow. About time. This won’t impact Leica’s sales of their 3K version of this lens, but will let a lot more folks into the super compact club and I seriously doubt that there will be a noticeable difference in the final output. Well…..not compared to the price difference anyway.
Hey! Maybe their next copy could be the 90 Thambar.

It will be interesting to see what they tackle and bring to the market.

People say the lens has to be perfect. Perfect is different for everyone. For me I like the way good Nikkors paint light. For others it's Leica or Zeiss, nothing else will do. And for some folks work that is true. There's a lot of folks out here to are very pay with good enough and it seems that TTA is focusing on that market. Not a bad time to have a bit of extra cash in ones pocket.

TTartisan has better reputation than the Leica Replica maker which has no company address, no manufacture information, no quality control certificate/warranty card.
