TTL with Leica R-E and R8 cameras. Is the R-E ok for TTL?

Ideally would like a flash, either Leica or Metz and adapter to do TTL with the two cameras. It would be nice if the flashgun
would be HSS compliant with the R8. Any ideas/thoughts/suggestions/criticisms?

The Leica R-E has the same TTL flash circuitry and system as the R5.



The R8 and R9 use a different system, but the same pins, and Metz 32-MZ3, 54MZ3, 40MZ-series should work on both. The ‘real’ Metz went broke in 2014, though the name lingers, but you should be able to find some second hand. You’re on your own with HSS. I never used it.

Or get a Metz SCA 3502 M2 TTL Adapter and a suitable flash. KEH has an adapter now for $23.41.

That’s great. i usenikon flashes with both but just standard auto…….which is no slouch.

would like the tl. i wanted to dabble with HSS
