I just got back from two and a half week trip to Peru. Approximately 15 rolls of 35mm, and not a single lens change. This is a first for me. I was aiming to travel light, and took the Xpan+45, XA as backup, and a Canon Sure Shot A-1 (for the white-water rafting element of the trip).

I usually travel with a wide/normal/tele combo, but rarely felt restricted by my kit on this trip. I think after a few days you just get into the groove of one focal length (and a certain aspect ratio in this case). Mind you, that 30mm was required for some of the Andean vistas... 🙂

Even with an XPan, you can use stitching software to create panoramic images 😀

I agree that if you just take one lens, it's a matter of a day or two and then you settle with what you have. Somehow photographic opportunities seem to come in that focal length only, and it doesn't matter if it's wide, normal or tele. I've had my best holidays that way; never fretting over whether or not to swap lenses, just concentrating on what presents itself..
