Hi all,

I just bought a used Bessa R3a and it turns out that the LEDs for the 1/250 and 1/500 shutter speeds don't light up. Everything else is fine though.

Here's a video of it as I dial from 1s to 1/2000s. Notice at 0:25 that two speeds don't light up.

Is this easily fixable ? I know how to solder LEDs.. I just don't feel like sending my camera for repair across the world for two LEDs...

The problem isn't for Manual mode. It's for the A mode where whenever the exposure happens to be 1/250 or 1/500, the camera just seems dead because the shutter speed lights are the only indicators that it's properly up and metering. It's very distracting.

With a Bessa it might make more sense to just pick up another body, perhaps a used one, and kiss this one goodby or keep it for emergencies and low light use, or as a "parts camera".

If you think that you might be able to revive it yourself then give it a go.
