I picked up a UK source K 4 today .
It works beautifully , even the meter , and has a Hoya filter and UK manual,
printed in Ukraine .
He even put a film through it !
Just the grime from an unmolested camera stored for years !
The other is a 1970 kiev 4 a [ my 1st ] from cupog -
In fine condition but with more '' signs of use '' but CLA and working smoothly .
Though his '' made in home '' spools are just a film spool with crude slot cut into it - needs opening out , I think !
Another later K 4 on the way from cupog .
i can't get enough of these Kameras !

Congratulations! Your hit rate on working Kievs beats mine, hands down.
It's good to see that someone has a good experience with these.
Dave..

My 61 vintage 4a from Mark Hama arrived yesterday and looks as though it has seen little use. A tweak of the rangefinder was all it needed. The lens doesn't even have any cleaning marks.

My initial Kievs were a K 4 and K 4m from Oleg .
Both are a deelight to use !
Thus encouraged, somewhat apprehensively I bought my 1st Kiev 2 and Kiev 3 from Alex-photo , which are lovely .
I took a chance on a cheap K2a [ among several K 4a at the same price ] which is in good condition , but needs CLA [ light leaks ] and , from another seller , a K3 , which is again good , but is untested .
i know of cupog's reputation , so this was less of a gamble , but the UK camera was something I wanted - with the original English manual.
Undoubtely a gamble which I was prepared to take , because Uk cameras were sorted by the importer , and many 70s cameras still work fine ...
