All has been suggested, but in the end it is of no use to you. You must determine what focal lengths fit you best. And note that your preferences will not only vary with the subject matter, but over time as well.

I change my mind daily as to my preferred focal length. I always then go back to 35 at the end of a week of trials!

I'm in Paris for a week prior to a friend's wedding. When tromping around the streets, I have packed 15-21-28-35. I have a 50 and a 90 but I won't take them out until the wedding. It really depends on how you see.
OTOH: if you get the two more expensive lenses now, you can get longer, less expensive lenses later.

voted on the double lux combo, it's pretty much what i'm intending to do, but with a nokton 35/1.2 v2 and a nokton 50/1.5 M instead.

21 voigtlander, 35 zeiss and 90 summarit. When I travel. The 90 hardly ever comes out of the bag, is more for piece of mind . The lenses render somewhat differently but I use presets in LR to make the rendering more consistent. When I carry a second body, it will usually have the 90 on it

The pre-asph 35/1.4 Lux renders beautifully with the M9, and so does the 50mm rigid Summicron. Both lenses are old and not modern. Maybe a 50 Lux asph with the 35 pre-asph would work well together.

All,

Hey, I've been pondering lenses (again) for my Leica M9. I primarily shoot street photography, along with some family now and then.

Which of the following two lens combinations would you choose--and why?

Note that I currently own the first combo, but rarely use the 90mm ... so I'm pondering the second combo of just two lenses.

Thanks ...

R
I, too, own but never use a 90mm lens for my Leica. I'll sell it soon, along with most of my extraneous gear, as a New Year's resolution.

I picked the 35/50 combo as I see them as very different focal lengths.
But am anxious to get my 75mm back after a tune up. 35/75 is hard to beat.

For my recent trip to Paris, I brought 4 lenses to use on my M9P: 24, 35, 50 and 90mm. I did not use the 90mm once. The other three saw about equal use.
