Enjoying a latte this afternoon with B&W magazine and saw that two of our own RFF members were honored in this month's issue celebrating some of the best photos of the year.

In Photojournalism category, X-RAY (Don Dudenbostel) won the Gold medal for his shot of a KKK rally.

In Portrait category, Mackinaw (Jim Bielecki) won the Bronze for his portrait of a young boy.

Congrats to both gents on their fine work and recognition! We're are fortunate to have them - along with many other talented photographers - in our RFF community 🙂

A hearty round of congratulations to all!!! I will pick up a copy of the magazine later on today.

(Thanks for the heads-up Tom)

Outstanding!! Congratulations to all! This is the American B&W? The December issue?

Peter,

Now that you mention it, I'm not sure if it was the American or UK version. It is the issue currently on the shelf at Barnes & Noble in the US.

Possibly, Issue 44 2006 Portfolio Contest Awards. I'll double-check next time I'm at B&N.

Congratulations!

Sounds more like the 2006 Annual with the single image contest awards, Tom. I have the 2005 annual, but not 2006.

I also have Issue 44 2006 Portfolio Contest Awards, which you mentioned, which came out in August. I don't think they divide the portfolios by categories like portrait, photojournalism, etc. BTW, in that issue, Simon Larby won the excellence award for his series in Cambodia, IIRC (Congratulations, Simon).

But thanks for the heads up. I'll need to pick up the issue at B&N!
