Hi, not long ago I was asking myself if it is a good idea to shoot a wedding in film. It was my brother's wedding. I gave it a try. Here is what came out.
1. I used only film both 35 mm and 60 mm (Leica M6TTL and a CX503 Hasselblad).
2. I was not a professional on the wedding but a guest (it was my brother's wedding). Of cause he had a real pro with DSLR who was to deliver good photos of the day. So I just had some fun with my film equipment.
Here are the pics. Fist was the day before the event - the hen-party:
The bride's name is Nastya.
I will not dare to post anything from the stag-party but will proceed directly with the wedding. To be continued..

Have no idea why, but I like this one:
The tired toast-master:
The End (at last). Sorry if it were too much pictures - I simply took too much film to that wedding..
The second wedding in film is my sister's. Will go on posting tomorrow.

What's that talk about a 'pro' with a 'DSLR'?
Seems to me you were the pro at that wedding!
Great shots, congrats! And to your brother and his lovely bride!

Thanks, I did like my photos till I saw those professional ones. She (the pro photographer was a girl) really did a great job. The ony thing I didn't like - she had produced too much pics (thousands I think). Should have deleted two thirds of them.. just never can get to the end watching them..

You caught some fun shots there. Surprised that the blacks came out that dark on the M6TTL-Tri-X combo, but it was a sunny contrasty day. Which lens' did you use on those fotos?

It was a very bright day with direct sun - not the best lightning to my taste.
Most pics outdoors were shot through a 35mm f2 Biogon ZM. All the pics inside - through 50 mm f1.1 Nokton. And I had 80mm f2.8 Planar on the Blad all the time.

I have attended a few weddings in the past couple years, taken my M3 / 50 and shot not more than 10 shots at each one and these were good friends. I'm surprised you got away with that many that would have been right in the way of a pro with a keen eye for moments...I would feel *Highly* intrusive to be doing that at someone's else's wedding, even my brother's...
No wonder the poor pro felt they had to shoot a ton, LoL! If I were the hired lens, you would have been very distracting to me, good photos or not.
Just say'n...
