Hundreds of Filipino were dead and thousands were rendered homeless when Tropical Storm Ondoy (international codename: Ketsana) ravaged most parts of Metro Manila, especially its eastern part, and nearby regions. President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo declared the whole country under state of calamity as
another super typhoon threatens to bring more devastation to the still-suffering nation.

A week after the typhoon, some roads were still covered with thick mud and some villages and streets were still underwater. People who were badly affected are still staying in nearby public schools that were converted into evacuation centers, surviving on releif goods being rationed by the government and other organizations. Classes in all levels have been suspended for a week. According to the National Disaster Coordinating Council, Ondoy caused an estimated P4.8 billion, P3.6 billion of which comes from the agriculture sector.

Buck, very powerful photos and excellent documentation. Also from me the best wishes to you and your family.

wonderful tonality. :)

The world needs more ppl like you to spread the voices of the victims.

Buck, these images are incredibly powerful. I'm speechless. I hope that life for you, your family, neighbors, friends and countrymen returns to normal soon. Be safe.

It indeed was horrible. The volume of water from that typhoon is equivalent to a month's rain. It's even bigger than hurricane katrina. Buck has recorded the disaster vividly and to think that he is also a victim of that traumatic flood. Btw, is hit by typhoons and tropical depressions at least 26x a year.

Nice work Buck, thankfully you and your family survived it all as we did in Northern Bulacan.

Excellent shots. I was supposed to be there for work this whole month, but due to my aunt being in town I sent a different technician.

Buck,
Really sorry to hear that but glad to hear that you're okay. We also have flood season every now and then here, these coming months... but fortunately no typhoon or the likes here.
Bob

These are very powerful images. I'm glad to hear your family and you are safe. I have a few colleagues that are from Philippines too and thankfully, their families are safe too. I wish you and all the people affected the best in your recoveries.

Amazing shots ,glad to see that you've survived and provided images not many would have seen outside of that area.
