I plan to buy a Canon 7 sometime soon if I can find a UK repairer familiar with them. Most likely a CLA necessary and at some point possibly shutter curtain replacement - as most Sevens advertised seem to have shutter "crinkles"
Anyone in the UK with a 7 know a repairer they can thoroughly recommend ?

Malcolm Taylor carries out excellent work and I second the recommendation above.

These guys also have considerable experience with an array of different classic cameras:

I know at least one dealer of classic cameras who sends all his repair work to them (including Canon 7s) and is very satisfied with their work.

I phoned them today expressing concern over the apparently common "crinkling" of the Seven's shutter material, namely that all Sevens I've seen advertised are affected and whether they have discovered a remedy. They simply said that if the one I buy has a crinkled shutter, they will "have a look at it" - i.e. no intimation of being able to straighten or replace a crinkled shutter. (I'll be starting a new thread asking those who are using a 7 for their comments/advice)
