Hi all,
I'm looking for some ideas where I can get nice pure black and white prints from C41 (400CN or XP2) done.
I'm not getting the time to print my HP5 or Fuji 100Acros so its C41 for the time being.
Once upon a time the high street favourites could make a reasonable attempt to avoid the cast you get on colour paper but that seems to have vanished.
I know Ilford do a p&p but that's onto RC paper and is quite pricey for what I need.
Any enlargements I intend to print myself on Ilford MGIV FB in the darkroom.
If any of you have a recommendation I'd be glad to hear it.
Thanks,
Steve.

Hi,
First post here so hope I'm not breaking any rules by including a phone number with the following. I don't think they advertise in the press for postal processing, but I can highly recommend my local processors . They no longer develop C41 but make consistently excellent black and white prints from Fuji CN400 negs (which I have developed elsewhere). Really helpful team ; I've no connection other than being a satisfied customer these past 6 years or so: Winchester photographic 01962 851294. Not on your doorstep but might be worth giving them a call. Fuji Crystal archive paper and they will print full frame (e.g. 5 x 7.5"). All the best with your search. Teashop.

Teashop,
Thanks for the advice.
They're not on my doorstep yet, eventually the housing market will pick-up and then I can continue my planned move to Hants.
Thanks,
Steve.

Hi Steve,
moved down here to Hants from Beds 8 years ago; great place to be; hillier landscape; seascapes; different quality of light somehow too. House prices are the obvious drawback but the beer's good and the natives friendly. All the best with your move when you make it, cheers, Teashop.

I've used http://www.ilfordlab.com/ a couple of times after being given discount/free processing envelopes - both times with XP2. I've been really happy with the results - no discernable colour cast, prints delivered in a nice box and printed with a white border.
They seem pretty pricey though so I'm not sure I'll use them when I run out of pre-pay envelopes (maybe just for special occassions..)
