It's been a while since I've bought any FSU cameras, so I need a refresher on dependable dealers. I seem to remember that Alex-photo was well regarded. True, or is my memory slipping? How about others?
Have arrival times from Ukraine changed any? My experience was usually around two weeks after ordering.
Within the U. S. I've had very good luck with Yuri at Fedka in NYC.

I've bought quite a few things - cameras and wristwatches - from Ukraine e-bay sellers and had no problems. I just choose the thing I want and if the seller has a shed load of positive evaluations (preferably in different languages) then I press the button. Delivery to France a bit random - between 7 and 21 days.

My two favorites are Alex-photo and Kubanoid. I believe Kubanoid is actually in Russia. Two to three weeks for delivery to New York is typical. Given what has happened to the value the dollar against the Euro prices of FSU cameras and shipping costs are getting to the point where they really are not such great bargains any more.

When I buy from Russian/Ukraine sellers I request tracking information. In most cases the item is passed through New York and in route to me within the US postal system within 3-5 days. It then takes another 7-10 to get to me..
It looks to me as though shipping slows down once the package enters the US..

I have bought from several with good results. However while his goods are as advertised seller semensky is slow to ship usually taking more than a month to ship..

I've bought from Soviet Camera Store, delivery took about three weeks. So far I'm pretty happy with it.

Colyn, you are surely right about snail-mail slowing things down. The USPS is at least as good at raising rates as it is at getting things delivered. And they claim to be operating at a deficit all the time.
It has been said that the best way to mess up anything is to put a bunch of government-paid bureaucrats in charge of it. Here you have a good example. They are not paid to think, only to blindly follow the regulations, regardless of the outcome.

I've had great success with Sergey. Take a look at his material on the big auction site. His ID is "blyatnikov". Most of the delivery times have been 8, 9, or 10 days from time of purchase. And very well packaged.

Several good ones, I was very pleased with a Fed 3(a) and a Fed 3(b) I got from Validimir5129, shipping was about 18 days and the descriptions were very honest. However, when I buy my next one, it will be from Yuri at Fedka.com (see my post at http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60783
