Buy more film
For anyone interested there’s a report with links to test images of the film at Photrio. Looks promising.
I've also been following that thread with interest. I do kind of wonder about the green emulsion. If Ultrafine Finesse is a re-badge, what other films have that same green-ish base?
Having looked at the examples, it really looks more to me like Ilford Pan 400 than Fomapan 400. It's definitely not Fomapan. The grain is pretty mild and the whites glow too much.
I have not tried Ilford Pan 400 or Fomapan 400, but the highlight halos do remind me a bit of Ultrafine eXtreme 400. Seems to indicate a similar lack of anti-halation. I actually kind of like the glow, at least with Ultrafine eXtreme 400.
If the new Ultrafine film is in fact Ilford Pan 400 I'll be happy.
Then I won't have to order it from overseas.
However I read that Ilford Pan 400 has been discontinued...

Well, I'm the OP, and I still haven't bought the Finesse despite initially saying that I might. Instead, I recently got a bulk roll of Kentmere Pan 400. A lot of rumors that Ultrafine eXtreme 400 is the same film, but I needed to try it for myself. Lucky that I bought when I did, because shortly after my purchase, it went out of stock at B&H.

That's interesting news. If it was discontinued, that would be the reason it's suddenly available as Ultrafine. Ilford has always said they don't re-badge existing films. That would clear them here.

I was all set to order Kentmere 400 until this Finesse appeared.
