The word umbrella derives from the Latin "umbra" meaning shadow. So it would seem meant to shade the user from the sun.
Similarly in French the word parasol means literally "for sun".
And the French word parapluie means "for rain".
Now we have it straight, eh? 🙂

The parasol is attached to her body with a harness thus leaving both her hands free to mess around with her phone.
I wonder, do people still call a cell phone a phone? Or, is it a hand held device? By my observations people do far less talking on their phone than they do texting, net surfing and gaming. By my preference I use an old folding phone that is incapable of anything other than talking.
