unbeliveable 35/1.8 Nikkor LTM price on ebay

Every time I see a post like this, I'm thinking Leica must be selling those M9's like water in the desert.

Just my luck, I finished selling my too-little-use lenses just last month, seems I started a bit early...

Sure a nice price for the seller, that Nikkor!

you are correct, it is a 1.8. I have fixed my post- you think that I would get that right, given that I have 2 in Nikon S-mount and one in LTM.

I too had been watching that, since I was in the market for an LTM 35. I picked up a Color-Skopar instead, so let's see, that's only one stop slower, for about 10% of the price!! I'll take that trade-off anytime. (I know, there are other differences too 😉, to put it mildly.) Although that Nikon looks in absolutely pristine condition, still I hope the buyer at least shoots with it and it does not get taken out of circulation to become a shelf queen.

A Nikkor 35/1.8 LTM sold here on RFF last week for $999, within an hour of posting.
I bid on the auction mentioned in the OP, but I was out at $825. 🙂
I guess I'll have to make do with the five 35mm lenses I already have. 🙄 GAS is a harsh mistress....

You could even probably find a UC-Hexanon 35/2 somewhere, which is based on the same optical formula as the Nikkor 35/1.8 (or so I've read), with modern coatings, for about half that money.

Prices for 35mm lenses in general seem to be rising. Is that due to the M9? Just a matter of waiting some more before I sell five of my six 35s to pay for an M9 😉

That particular copy in the auction was truly exceptional, although it did not have original caps. There is another one that is buy it now for $1400+ that's been on ebay for a few days.

Well, it is a good lens. I got mine with my Nikon SP 20005 kit and it is just outstanding.

If Nikon came out with a run of say 1000 in LTM and 2000 in M mount they would be sold before they left the factory. At least 60% would end up on M8/9 bodies IMHO.
