Uneven Frame Spacing R2A

Hello Photogs,

After running several rolls of film through my 3 months old R2A, I started to notice some uneven frame spacing. The frames are not close to overlapping (yet!) but I would just like to know if this a known problem? Will I beable to fix this issue by myself? Any suggestions?

I occasionally get uneven spacing on my R. Never had overlaps, though.

TBH, I've never worried about it...

My R2A has done the same thing on a couple of rolls. No overlap, just uneven. Maybe I'm dense (no, I AM dense), but I ignored it.

Thanks guys. The uneveness doesn't bother me just as long as I know it's not because my camera is screwed up.

I don't know if this relates to your case or not, but did you know that frames shot with a super-wide lens sometimes look closer together than those shot with longer lenses? The light from the exit pupil of a super-wide hits the film at such a flat angle that it actually reaches a little farther back under the edges of the film gate!

I've had the same problem with all the Bessas I've had (L, R, T, R2, R2S, R3A) but it's not serious -- I've never had an overlap that I can remember.

hmm, i am using a 35. but if what you say is true, than wouldn't that be with all the frames if i shoot the whole roll with it? that will make it all even, no?

I dont see how you can have uneven frame spacing with a Bessa L. Unless its the addon viewfinder thats got the problem.

I have this problem with my Nikon FM2 AFTER I dropped it. But I haven't this problem with my Bessa R2s (I have 2 R2s).

My R2 seems to have reasonably even spacing. What's not so ideal is that the spaces between frames always ends up in the middle of a sprocket hole.
