Was reading the 'Bottom-loader' thread carefully trying to learn the technique; learnt about the ABLON and the 'credit card' method described elsewhere, and then went to my camera. Well ! in the back of the leather case is a slot, which I had not noticed, and it contained the little card described. What a thrill ! Will now have to learn how to use it.

Yea, this is the very rare Leica LODR.

Just insert it where the film goes and then put the film between the card and pressure plate already tucked into the take up spool. Make sure film and spool are fully seated and remove the LODR. Rewind until there is tension on the film/take up spool. Advance film with a half twist of the advance and abserve the film canister spool turning and discharging film.

Replace the bottom, and advance two complete frames. No need to trim anything. You need not even do a short trim, square is just fine.

I've had several Zorkis that came with a little white plastic card on which was written exposure notes in Russian longhand, so I always assumed that's what the card was for.

I never could find one myself. So I cut 1/8 in off a business card and added a short tape loop to the long side so I could more easily remove it from the camera.

Business card really are a bit too long.
