Can anyone provide any information or user comment on viewfinders suitable for an old Leica 111?
I'm told the early (1930's) Leitz variety, which still sell for a goodly amount, simply crop the view and because they used only one prism, the view is laterally reversed. The Soviet variety cost less and while laterally correct, they can suffer from dirt and haze and can be a bit inaccurate and rather difficult to keep on the shoe.
I have come across a Foinix type that was a postwar German piece, but unfortunitly, I can find very little info on this as to how it might perform?
Has anyone used one of these Foinix finders, how did you find it?

I had a (late)VIOOH finder-but sold, I disliked it because it was BIG, and the view through the viewfinder was rather small & dim..Found a Leica 50mm & 35mm finder and I am happy with these...

Unless you just gotta have an authentic, vintage one, put your $ on a modern CV one. They're bright, clear and have great framelines. they do look a little vintage too.

If you want to go down the vintage route:

The view through the Leica VIDOM is reversed left-to-right.
The VIOOH view is correct because of an extra prism, but is also dimmer due to it.
Both work by simply closing down the viewing aperture giving you major tunnel vision from 90mm and longer. 😉

The Contax/KMZ turret finders offer a better experience, but are less versatile when it comes to parallax correction. And they are HUGE! 🙂

There's was a user review on the Argus Sandmar Zoom-view a few weeks ago...it wasn't favorable. 😉
