Unofficial NIKKOR contest

Yes, I was using a Subal housing for my D70S. The image was taken at a depth of approximately 35 feet in Tulamben in Bali. I was staying at a resort called Scuba Seraya and did a shore dive where I found the Coleman Shrimp just waiting to have his picture taken :) While staying at the resort, I also did a dive at the Liberty Wreck, a wreck close to shore.

The housing used was very similar to this one, which I now have for my D300. Reef Photo and Video doesn't carry the Subal housing for the D70S anymore, or else I'd link to it. But it's enough to give you an idea of what the housing looks like:

That is so awesome. Must have been an amazing trip! :D

I haven't entered a contest in over 20 years, but considering the prizes, I'm down :p.

Since I'm going to give a prize rather than receive one, why not post another one :) This one was taken with an AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.4 at f/1.4.

Last call. It's gonna be midnight here soon, official end of contest. I was thinking of picking the photo tomorrow, but I'll be tied up at work. On the other hand I've got 6 rolls of film to soup tonight, so might have to wait... In any case, all entries before my final post will be considered, no exact time, but in 2 to 10 hours I'll be picking :)

And The Winner Is.....

And The Winner Is.....

Hi guys, the contest is over! :)
I'm not exaggerating when I say it was painful to choose just one photo since all of them were very awesome and some were simply perfect. Still, the photo below grabbed my attention since it got posted. I'll admit - the choice is biased, I just love this type of photography.
So without further a-do, the winner is - Blind_spark.

I will message the above member for his address details, but, seeing that he's got just one post on this board I don't exclude the chance that I might not hear from him. If he/she doesn't get back to me by this weekend the prize will go to the other photo that was just a hair short of #1:

Thanks everyone, enjoy your NIKKORs and I hope you're not dissapointed. Like I said, I loved all your photos and this choice wasn't easy.

Cheers!

(Johnny - your turn to pick your winner for the strap).

Many thanks to Phantomas for putting on this contest, I will definitely post a pic when it arrives! It made me look through my drawer of what-not's to see if I could do something similar. It must have been a tough choice...there were so many wonderful shots to choose from. Good job to all.

Best, Bryan

Thanks for the chance to show off our Nikkor shots, this was a lot of fun and these are fantastic photos by everyone.

Thanks for the "honorable mention," and congrats to Bryan (Blind_spark) for the winning pic! There were so many memorable photos posted - I'm not sure I could pick just one...

Late to this, but I had to add one - just because it's at least a 50-year old Nikon lens and an oddity at that. Nikkor 75mm f3.5 on an Aires TLR (that I call the Frankencord 'cause someone went to the trouble of hacking a Rolleicord nameplate onto it).

(Minor complaint, on flickr this comes out lighter and grainier, I think it looks better darker).

Maybe that's the next assignment/contest - categories for odd/unusual/particularly old Nikkors.
