Yesterday I won an 80mm f/2.8 Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar lens for a rather nice price. It's not a RF lens and truthfully I'm not certain if it's an Exakta or M42 mount but it doesn't matter as I own both types of cameras.

So what's unusual? The seller lives in a section of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and I'm pretty certain the electricity there is not working since Hurricane Wilma passed through. I emailed the seller immediately but have yet to hear back.

I just hope the seller and the lens survived the storm! I'm patient so I'll wait until I know for certain that power has been restored in that area. This kind of thing only happens to me, I think.

I've got family down there, and I can assure you the vast majority of Broward County (fort Lauderdale area) is without power.

Thanks for verifying that, Jason. The seller lives in Davie which is close to the airport according to the map.

Florida has had some tough times with hurricanes these past couple of years. I feel badly for the people there.

When the Hurricane blew through here two years ago, up the east Coast, it took a few days to get power back. It took a week for the cable to come back up, ie connectivity. And that hurricane was nothing compared to this one!

Davie is an older community. I'd bet dollars to donuts that the place is a real mess. There's lots of old trees in that part of Broward.

My parents are a little Northwest of there and their cell phone battery conked out on Tuesday.

I just sent a money order for a Tenba bag to an eBay seller in Miami.
It may be awhile before I know my sales's status, too.

Though my first impulse is concern for my item and money order,
I should be concerned more with the well-being of the seller...

Excelsior, you fathead!

We haven't heard from the in-laws in West Palm Beach.
I think they got hit pretty hard there.
We are keeping our fingers crossed...
