I have just aquired a UK sourced Kiev 3a in good condition , but poor paint.

To be honest , I now have a '57 which I wanted , but was intriuged because it has just an '' A '' and number -

No ''Made in USSR '' on the accessory shoe .

i was not aware that any later cameras with dual script , had this simplified number ?

Does anyone have a post - Kiev 2 / 3 camera like this ?

Hey Dee,

I have a 1956 3a in very good condition, and there is no made in USSR marking on it. It does say eCCCP or something to that effect stamped on the hotshoe. But no made in USSR-

the plot thickens - how many varaints are there ? incidentally , it's in great condition , but with '58 lense .

Hi all,
There are Kievs with the "A" letter before the s/n.
And… there are Kievs with a "b" letter before the s/n.
I have a A 51xxx , a A 52xxx and a A 54xxx. All of them have a DIN photometer.
At this time, nobody found any explanation for these letters "A" and "b".
If there is not "Made…etc" it is possible to think that these cameras were for internal market only. (No export)

Maybe one of you has the clue ??

Regards,
Michel.
