Update on Lazzari Repair

"I’d that a collapsible Elmer on your CL? Can you collapse it?"

The classic way is to put a strip of Dymo label tape around the barrel to limit how far to collapse the lens.....otherwise you'll take out the meter arm on a CL or M5
 
It doesn’t conflict with the meter arm, neither do my Summitar, Summicron, or Nikkor.

The Elmar is the closest but it hits some sort of bulkhead before can reach the space where the arm is. I’m going to add an o ring to the Elmar barrel to provide a little extra margin for error

I've added 3 o-rings, although when retracted the Elmar barrel can't really get into the meter arm space anyway, so o-rings are really just an added bit of insurance.

It looks discrete, if not invisible, and the lens still retracts sufficiently to make for a low profile...

I have 7 more o-rings if anyone wants them, had to buy 10!

I had Gus work on my 1957 Nikon SP. I could barely focus it the viewfinder was so bad. He had my camera 3 months and I too experienced the “so this is what it looked like when it was brand new” feeling. He is beyond meticulous and worth the very long wait.
 
Not sure what magic he applies to viewfinder windows, and to increase contrast of the RF patch but it's great. ;)
