I teased elsewhere that I had bought myself a present. Well, here he is with all of the girls.

I know he isn't a rangefinder, but you had to see Bessa's eyes when this strapping young man came out of the box. Thank you to Fransisco and rsilfverberg for their support of my decision making. I have wanted to buy a medium format camera for a while and originally planned on purchasing a Rolleiflex TLR. In my heart though, I always wanted a Hasselblad. On a whim started looking at the prices of used Hassy kits and was surprised that they were within my budget. I shopped around and decided to buy from KEH and am very happy with the purchase. Everything is as described.

Wow! That one looks like a big, happy family! And that's a really nice shot! What camera did you use if all of yours are there in a nice portrait setting?

Now, remember Bessa's feelings can be easily hurt, as this camera used to run your photo stable. The Konica and Minolta may be used to occasional snubbings, but let them remember that you care and they'll be happy with you. The Canonet, always stoic, knows you well and will always consider you a very good friend, because it's a resilient camera, used to being forgotten by decades and generations alike. As for the Yashica... well, did you consider that it was probably acting up out of jealousy?

Well, who wouldn't. That Hassy looks simply regal in that group. Is that an 80mm lens?

I am thinking that Bessa is going to end up spending lots of time time in the bag with our Hasselblad. It sounds like a really nice kit to carry around, Bessa with her 35 and 75mm lenses, and Hassy with his 80. And I try my best to give the others enough exersize to keep them happy. Nothing like having a strong stable that you can easily grab from on your way out the door to make sure you have camera with you at all times.

I used my Dimage F100 for the photo. It is the tool of the devil, but makes it easy to get a shot on the net fast when I need to!

Rover, Hasselblad is a very classy addition to the household/stable. Now can you live up to the quality expectations? At least you'll have comfort that the camera is not the limiting factor! 🙂

Ahhh, the lure of medium format. Mind you, with a waistlevel finder, a 6x6 SLR is an excellent tool for handheld photography. Just push the camera against the pull of the strap to eliminate as much shake as possible. Besides, 400 ISO gives a smoother picture than 100 ISO on 35 mm.

Today, at least, I did get a Leica grip, which I got from a photo.net member for $65 (shipping included).
