US$2850 for brand new M8

Yeah I paid US$2850 including postage for brand new black Leica M8.
Slide in value of AU$ and bit of luck ..great poeple at Camera Lane in Melbourne sold me M8 ,28mm Elmarit ASPH. tripod and 4 G card kit for AU$7100.. about US$4500 in total.
I think prices are gone up now but one can still get great deals from Leica dealers Down Under due to value of our $.

Yeah. I once bought a brand new Nikon D40x for $200.

I ended up returning it, though; I needed stop-metering for my Nikon lenses (yes, I'm not a brand bigot)
