used 50 summicron-M or new zeiss 50 planar ZM ?

Yes I did, but conditions were extremely bad (very powerfully contra lighting from back plus street light) , plus I was using protective filter because I lost lens cap in Paris, I will post images tomorrow, I scanned my files yesterday and my bloody windows vista crashes for no freaking reason...

so i got the planar yesterday at work, and let me first of all tell you how impressed i am with popflash.. i ordered it on saturday afternoon with their cheapest shipping, and it was in my hands on monday afternoon at work.

that kind of turnaround time is absolutely unheard of, therefore these guys will now get my business whenever im buying anything in m mount...

THANKS POPFLASH! 🙂

secondly, the lens is sharp as a tack. i did a quick test vs my nocti, and its funny, ive never been disatisfied with its sharpness, but the planar made it look like a kit lens...

so, overall, very very happy, look forward to shooting it... in the meantime, heres my flickr in case anyone is interested, heh-- www.flickr.com/photos/elliotcarvalho

Congrats on a new lens. Planar is a fine lens. I compared it to 2 Crons and it deffinately holds its own. I like how it handles over the Crons. More comfortable to me. I sold one of my Crons after I got Planar. The newer one. Yet while I like Planar and use it more and more now, but for some shots I still prefer my Rigid Cron. Both lenses are very special, I think. Each for different application. Don't know about Nokti, never used one, but I can't say that Planar is sharper that Rigid cron or the other way around. It's just they each have a different way to "paint" the picture. I wish Rigid Cron had the same handling as Planar - Planar is my best handling lens - most comfortable to hold and focus with. Yet Rigid is so special, even though I really dislike how it handles - results it delivers make me love it anyway.
Anyway, congrats again and put it to a good use and than share some photos with us from your new Planar.

The latest Cron 50 has some internal flare issue. The black paint by the rear element is too reflective, such that it causes annoying flare in the middle of the frame when the light condition is right.

I've not had any flare with mine- I wonder if it is just one batch of them?

I... My heart skipped a zillion beats, but it still works. That alone is saying something...
Yup, that you're still alive. 🙂 If my heart skipped a zillion beats, I'm not sure it would ever work again! Post some Crete pics.
