I have an opportunity (?) to pick up a GT. Pretty good shape, shutter functions, glass is clean etc. Some minor brassing on a couple of the corners
Problem though is the battery cover. The threads are stripped and the cover and a small part of the surrounding area are getting messed up with the guy trying to get the cover off.
He is asking about $45 for it although I figure I can get it for around $30.
How does one go about fixing the messed up threads and are the covers available somewhere? I guess I could use a silver one until I find a black one. I guess the other question is how do I get the cover off in the first place.
Is there a black paint that can be use to touch up the bottom plate and/or the battery cover?
Is the price OK? I looked on the Bay and found completed sales from $28 to over $100
